Help with Ad & Popup Blocker: Clearpage

Getting started

Turn on blocking in Safari

Nothing is blocked until Safari's switches for Clearpage are on. The app's setup checker lists each one and shows which is still off. Turn them on either way:

In the Settings app

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Apps, then tap Safari.
  3. Tap Extensions, then tap Clearpage Ads and Trackers and turn on Allow Extension.
  4. Go back, tap Clearpage Extra Filters and turn on Allow Extension.
  5. With Pro, do the same for Clearpage Site Controls.

In Safari

  1. Open a web page in Safari.
  2. Tap the page menu on the left of the search field, then tap Manage Extensions.
  3. Turn on the Clearpage extensions.

If you use Safari profiles, turn the extensions on for each profile you use. Back in the app, the status card turns green and says Blocking is on. Tap Test page to see how many ad and tracking requests Safari blocks.

Ad & Popup Blocker: Clearpage is coming soon to the App Store.

Requirements

  • iPhone
  • iOS 26.2 or later
  • Safari
  • English

Still seeing ads

  1. Check the status card. Open the app. If it does not say Blocking is on, the setup checker names the switch that is still off.
  2. Check Safari's own list. In Safari, tap the page menu on the left of the search field, then tap Manage Extensions. Safari can turn an extension off for one website; make sure Clearpage is on for this one.
  3. Check your allowed sites. A site you allowed or paused is not blocked. Open Sites in the app and remove it.
  4. Reload the page. Safari applies new rules to pages loaded after the change.
  5. Report it. Tap Report an ad in the app and enter the page address. It writes an email with the address and the list versions; send it, and the lists get fixed in a future release.

Some ads come from the site's own servers or change faster than the filter lists, so no list blocks every ad. Ads inside other apps and in other browsers are out of reach of Safari's content blockers.

For more detail, see how to turn on a Safari ad blocker on iPhone.

Allow a site or pause blocking

If a checkout, a login or a video stops working, allow the site or pause blocking on it, then reload the page.

  • In the app (free): open Sites, add the site, and choose to allow it or pause blocking on it. Remove it from Sites to turn blocking back on.
  • In Safari (Pro): on the page, open Safari's extension menu, tap Clearpage, then tap Allow this site or Pause 15 minutes. Reload the page to see it.

Pausing all of Safari's blocking for every site at once is done in Safari: turn Clearpage off in Manage Extensions or in Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions, and turn it back on the same way.

Pro and purchases

Free and Pro

Blocking, the setup checker, the status screen, the test page, allowed sites and pause are free, with no limits. Pro adds site controls in Safari's extension menu, extra filter sets for annoyances, cookie notices and social widgets, and themes.

  • Pro Monthly: $4.99 a month, renews automatically unless cancelled
  • Pro Lifetime: $14.99 once, never renews

Restore a purchase

On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling the app, open the app's Settings and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Pro.

If a purchase says it is waiting for approval, it needs a parent or guardian to approve it through Ask to Buy. Pro turns on once it is approved.

Cancel the subscription

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Choose Ad & Popup Blocker: Clearpage, then tap Cancel Subscription.
  4. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge.

Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel.

Refunds

Apple processes every purchase. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com (opens in a new tab) and sign in with your Apple Account.

Data and privacy

Blocking runs inside Safari, and the app never sees page content or your browsing history. Your allowed sites and theme stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no server of ours and no analytics. Details are in the privacy policy.

To delete your allowed sites and theme, open the app's Settings and tap Delete all data. Blocking stays on. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.

Troubleshooting

The status card says Blocking is off

One of Safari's switches is off. Tap Open Settings in the app, or follow the steps in Getting started, then come back to the app; it checks again when it opens.

The status card says blocking could not be checked

Tap Check again. If it keeps failing, delete Clearpage and install it again, then turn it on in Safari's extensions.

The test page shows 0 blocked

Safari is not using Clearpage. Turn it on in Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions, or in Safari's page menu > Manage Extensions, then open the test page again.

A site does not work

Allow the site or pause blocking on it, then reload the page. See Allow a site or pause blocking.

Pro is not active after buying

Open the app's Settings and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy.
